Motels are ideal for budget conscious vacationer or a weary traveler. A motel accommodation is inexpensive, quaint, and pleasant, with its focus on facilitating your basic needs away from home.

Essentially designed for motorists to stay and rest when tired from long road journeys, motels differ from hotels in their common location along highways, as opposed to the urban cores that are favored by hotels. This lodging option always includes a parking lot. Motels are similar to hotels without amenities.

Motels are known by different names in different countries. They are usually used for a short stay. In Latin America they are known as short-time hotels while in Mexico, they are called Motel de paso or Passing Motel. In Argentina, they are popularly known as albergue transitorio, or temporary lodging, and in Paraguay, they are called reservados.

Sometimes, motels are also used for extended stay and in that case they have kitchenettes.

Most of these motels provide clean, affordable rooms with direct dial phones, television, and complimentary continental breakfast. You can find luxury, intermediate, and economical motels.
