Kenya

Kenya, also known as the Republic of Kenya, is a country in East Africa. It is a wonderful place for a vacation. Kenya is bordered by Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Lake Victoria, Sudan, and the Indian Ocean. The capital city of Kenya is Nairobi. The mountains, deserts, colorful tribal culture, beaches, coral reefs, and wild life are some of the amazing attractions of Kenya. Though small in size, Kenya is rich in places of interests. Kiswahili, English, and other tribal languages are spoken here. The best time to visit this country would be in January and February where the weather at this time is generally hot and dry, so wild animals tend to congregate near water spots, making it easier to see them.

There are plenty of lodging facilities available in the major cities around the country. One interesting thing about Kenya is that you will be able to find churches that can house you if you have not been able to book into a hotel. The road way in Kenya is much better when compared to other African countries. Public mini busses constitute the major part of the Kenyan public transport system. Kenya also has a railway transport system that connects some of the major cities. You can also hire cars to travel around the country.

Kenya has a great number of places to visit. Fort Jesus is a famous place in Mombasa, where you can explore the gun turrets, battlements, and houses within the walls. You can also go for a cruise on the Mombasa Harbor.

Wildlife safaris have been the mainstay of Kenya's tourism for decades. Kenya is a top destination for bird watchers. You can see lions, elephants, leopards, and other animals in the Amboseli National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park, where you can see flamingoes, attracts thousands of visitors every year. The Tsavo National Park, Hell's Gate, and Mombasa National Parks are among the other national parks that you can visit. You can go for wild shark tracking expeditions, deep sea diving, snorkeling, and kite surfing on the magnificent beaches in Kenya. If you are interested in mountain climbing, visit Mt. Kenya. The highest peaks, Batian and Nelion, are very difficult to climb. Most trekkers can, however, climb the third highest peak, Point Lenana.

Marsabit, Mombasa, Malindi, Garissa, Wajir, Nakuru, and Meru are some of the other places that you can visit in the country.
