The Kingdom of Morocco is located in North Africa. It is bordered by Algeria to the east and Mauritania to the south. It also shares a water border with Spain to the north. The capital city is Rabat and its largest city is Casablanca. The official language is Arabic, though many people speak French, and it is best to travel there in spring before the true heat of summer begins.

Morocco is a land filled with many cultures from around the world. Numerous countries have invaded it and added their own personal flair to the land, often leaving more behind than they took with them. Morocco has a unique way of drawing people to itself, no matter what walk of life they come from.

The Rif Mountains and Atlas mountains run through the country, and the western part of Morocco is covered by the Sahara Desert. The must visit places in Morocco include the imperial cities of Marrakech, Fes, Casablanca, Rabat, and Meknes. The beaches, seaside towns and natural wonders are thronged by tourists worldwide.

Marrakech is a cultural center that offers many attractions for visitors, such as the Majorelle Gardens. Rabat, the political and administrative center of Morocco, has interesting places to visit like Oudaya Kasbah, Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and the Morocco Archaeological Museum.Souq-Rue ben Brahim (a walled marketplace), Ancienne Talborjt, and The Valley of the Birds are places to visit while in Agadir. If you visit Asilah you can see Monoliths of M'Soura, which is a spectacular Neolithic stone circle, and the Roman Ruins of Lixus.

There are various modes of transportation in Morocco. Jetfoils are the fastest and cheapest mode of travel. Trains and buses connect most of the cities in the country. You can also hire a car to travel around if you wish not to rely on public transportation. Accommodations are available for every budget in the larger cities of Morocco.

Casablanca

Casablanca, the financial capital of Morocco, is a city located in the western part of the country near the Atlantic Ocean. The Port of Casablanca is the largest artificial port in the world and a vital instrument of Morocco's economy.

Casablanca experiences a mild Mediterranean climate with very little variation. This pleasant climate makes it a preferred tourist destination for travelers all around the world. Once in Casablanca you can visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world outside Mecca. It also has the world's tallest minaret.

You can also visit the many lush beaches in the city, such as Ain Diab. Or you can relax and enjoy the cafes and beach clubs located in the seafront Boulevard de la Corniche. The Catholic Cathedral, Old Medina, and Parc de la Ligue Arabe are other places to visit in Casablanca.
