Tanzania Vacations
Tanzania
Tanzania, officially known as the United Republic of Tanzania, is located in East Africa, bordered by Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique. It also borders the Indian Ocean to the east. The name Tanzania comes from a combination of Tanganyika, a large mainland, and Zanzibar, an offshore archipelago. When the two British colonies joined in 1964, they formed the United Republic of Tanganyika and Zanzibar. In later years the region was renamed to the United Republic of Tanzania.
