From a small trading community, the city has now evolved as the economic center of Southeast Asia.

Bangkok enjoys three seasons. Temperatures range from 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit from March to mid-June when the weather is very hot. During the rainy season, from June to October, the temperature ranges from 75-90 degrees. The weather is relatively cooler from November through February.

Activities & Attractions

The city offers various attractions in the form of festivals and leisure activities. There are colorful parades accompanied by music and entertainment almost throughout the year. Bangkok is home to several world-class golf courses and people from all over the world come here to enjoy a game of golf at the famous golf courses around the city. Teeming with tradition, the metropolis city of Bangkok has several beautiful temples, shrines and churches. Most of these temples are inhabited by Buddhists monks, who live by the doctrines of Gautam Buddha. Some of these famous temples are Wat Phra Kaew (the Emerald Buddha), Wat Arun in Bangkok (Temple of Dawn), Wat Pho (Temple of Reclining Buddha), among others.

The city of Bangkok is also considered a shopper's paradise, where local bazaars are colorful and offer good bargains. From cool restaurants to good jazz clubs, you can have a relaxed and safe time with your friends or family.

Lodging

Bangkok offers a variety of hotel and accommodation facilities. The hotels provide efficient, polished service which has become the hallmark of Thai hospitality. Some of the popular picks for hotels are the Royal Orchid Sheraton, Conrad Bangkok, Adelphi Grande.

Transportation

Like any other major city in the world, you can expect traffic congestion in Bangkok too. However, there are several modes of transportation with the automobile being the most popular. Taxis, three-wheeled taxis called Samolars, buses and boats through the canal are the transportation modes available in the city. The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) provides safe, cheap, and rapid rides to popular parts of Bangkok. The service is excellent and the trains are immaculate. This mode of transport is the best way to avoid traffic and pollution. Of course, many people still enjoy touring some areas of the city on foot.
