Quebec, the largest province in Canada by area and the second most populous, is a great place to spend a weekend with someone special or with the family. The eastern part of the fortification walls in Old Quebec and Place Royale contain most of Quebec's best architecture. The Escalier and Old Quebec Funicular that connects the Upper Lower Towns include the ancient Notre Dame des Victoires Church, the historic Petit Champlain district, and the Museum of Civilization. St. Anne de Beaupre is a famous pilgrimage site that has an enormous cathedral. Another amazing site is the St. Lawrence Seaway, which offers an excellent viewing experience for everyone.
For adventurous visitors, Quebec is a finest location with its large backwoods, parks, lakes and forests. Visitors can hunt, fish, raft, camp, hike and do much more. Northern Quebec is best suited for fishing and the Laurentian region is best for rafting. Quebec is also internationally known for its summer and winter Carnivals. Other festivals and events include the Jazz Winnipeg Festival, Red River Exhibition Park, Dauphin's Countryfest, Winnipeg International Children's Festival, and the World Lily Festival.

To reach Quebec you can travel by air, bus, car or train. Inside the province you can either travel by bus, car or motorcycle. Bus service covers the entire province and cars can also be rented to visit sites at your leisure. There are also ferry services to travel to the surrounding islands, but luckily most attractions are conveniently located in easily accessible places.
Montreal
The largest city in Quebec and the second largest city in Canada is Montreal. The city is named after the most prominent geographical feature on the island, a three-head hill called Mount Royal, which is located 232 meters above sea level. The Mount Royal Park, one of Montreal's largest green spaces, is situated on this mountain.
Montreal is well known for its churches. There are four Roman Catholic basilicas; Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, Notre-Dame Basilica, St. Patrick's Basilica, and Saint Joseph's Oratory. The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Musee d' art Contemporain, and the Canadian Centre for Architecture are some of the famous museums in Montreal.
Montreal offers a variety of accommodation choices for visitors of all ages and tastes. Intercity transport is served by the network of buses, subways and commuter trains. A four- seasoned destination, Montreal is busiest from June to early October because most of the festivals and outdoor activities take place during the warmer months.
