Caribbean Islands are some of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. These islands boast of a tropical climate and beautiful beaches that attracts many tourists. There are plenty of activities and attractions in the Caribbean Islands. Some of the popular activities on these islands are swimming, surfing, kayaking, yachting, diving, wind surfing, hiking, and sailing. Most of the Caribbean islands have luxury resorts that offer plenty of amenities to its visitors. Since most of the islands are pretty small, travelling to places of interest around them is very easy and convenient.

Anguilla

Anguilla is a British Overseas territory located in the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean islands. The island offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, horse riding, and biking. Well known tourist spots include the Meeds Bay and Fountain Cavern.

Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua and Barbuda are Leeward Islands located in the Caribbean Sea. This small nation is made up of two major islands and many small islets. Runaway Beach, Oink Beach, and Darkwood beach are some of the popular beaches. Shirley Heights, English Harbor, Nelson's Dockyard, and Betty's Hope are some of the well known tourist destinations that many tourists visit.

Aruba

The island of Aruba is an autonomous region within the kingdom of Netherlands. The island is only 33 kilometers long and is located in the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. Places of interest on the island include Alto Vista Capital, Arikok National Park, Quadriki Caves, and the California Lighthouse.

Bahamas

Located in the Atlantic Ocean, southeast of the United States, Bahamas is made up of nearly seven hundred islands and two thousand cays. This English speaking island has many activities and attractions to offer to its visitors. Some of the famous tourist spots are Ardasta Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Center, Blue Lagoon Island, Exuma Island, Eleuthera Island, and Bullock Harbor.

Barbados

An independent island nation, Barbados, was first inhabited by the Portuguese. The word Barbados means bearded, which refers to the hanging roots of the famous bearded fig tree.

British Virgin Islands

Located to the east of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Sea, British Virgin Island is a part of the British overseas territory. The main islands are Virgin Gorda, Anegada, Tortola, and Jost Van Dyke. Tourists can pursue many interesting activities like parasailing, fishing, snorkeling, horse riding, golfing, scuba diving, and sailing.

Cayman Islands

Cayman Islands are made up of three major islands, namely Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac. This British Overseas territory offers many activities and attractions to its visitors. You can visit the Bluff, at Cayman Brac where you can see dramatic limestone formations that rise about 140 feet above the ground.

Cuba

Officially known as the Republic of Cuba, this island is an archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. Havana is the capital and the largest city in Cuba. Coral snorkeling, hiking trips, and swimming are some of the popular activities that attract tourists.

Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic is located on the island of Hispaniola in the Greater Antilles archipelago.

Haiti

Haiti, also known as the Republic of Haiti, was the first nation to gain independence among the Caribbean islands. You can visit the Museum of Haitian Art, markets, Defly Mansion, Citadelle, and the Cathedral in the capital city, Port-au-Prince.

Jamaica

The island nation of Jamaica is a province of the Federation of the West Indies. Jamaica is well known for a vibrant night life and fine dining. The turquoise beaches and lush mountains are the major attractions for the tourists to this island.

Martinique

Also known as the "Isle of Flowers," Martinique is located in the Eastern Caribbean Sea.

It is a French overseas territory and a part of the European Union. If you are a nature enthusiast, then you would surely enjoy visiting this island. The flora and fauna found here are unique and cannot be seen elsewhere. You can go to Mt.Pelee to explore the tropical rain forests.

Montserrat

Located in the Leeward Islands, Montserrat is a British overseas territory. The island is around 16 kilometers long and 11 kilometers wide and has a coastline of about 40 kilometers. You can visit the Fox's Bay Bird Sanctuary where you can see many species of birds, hawksbill turtles, and mangrove forests. Other popular tourist spots include hot water pond, old fort on St. George's Hill, and Rendezvous Bay.

Netherlands Antilles

Netherlands Antilles consists of two groups of islands and is a part of the Lesser Antilles. The major islands are Sint Eustatius, Saba, and Sint Maarten. Puerto Rico

St. Barts

St. Barts, also known as Saint Barthelemy Island, is famous for its unspoiled beaches and mountainous landscape. The popular activities on the island are windsurfing, water skiing, scuba diving, and snorkeling. The capital city, Gustavia, has many stylish boutiques, art galleries, and an open-air market.

St. Kitts and Nevis

The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, is a federal two-island nation in the West Indies.

St. Lucia

This volcanic island located in the lesser Antilles island chain, is a Windward island. You can visit the popular places of interest either on horseback or by sea on a yacht. Cas en Bas, Vieux Fort, Diamond Falls, Mount Gimie, and Pigeon Island National Park are some of the well known tourist destinations that you can visit.

St. Vincent

St. Vincent is a volcanic island that is located in the Caribbean Sea. The island gained independence from the British on October 27, 1979. The pristine black beaches seen here are a unique feature of this island and are not seen in other islands. This island also has the only active volcano in the Caribbean islands. Georgetown, Layau, Chateaublair, Kingstown, Clliaqua, and Barrouallie are some of the well known towns on the island.

Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago is an archipelago that lies in the Lesser Antilles. The country has two major islands and many smaller islands. This island country is famous for hiking, nature watching, and heritage sites. Popular places of interest that you can visit here are Asa Wright Nature Center, Kimme's Structural Museum, Flagstaff Hill, and Caroni Bird Sanctuary.

Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos consist of eight main islands and 20 smaller ones. Cockburn Town, Mudjin Harbor, Fort George's Cay, and East Caicos Caves are popular tourist destinations on the islands. Guided horseback tours are available on several islands that give you a close look of the beautiful countryside.

U.S. Virgin Islands

The U.S Virgin Islands is a group of islands located in the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. Since these islands are an insular area of the United States, visitors from that country do not need a passport to visit this island. There are plenty of activities for visitors like hiking, sailing, and swimming.
