Antigua & Barbuda Vacations
Overview
Antigua and Barbuda consists of two islands that mean "ancient" and "bearded" in Spanish. They are located close together within the Leeward Islands on the eastern boundary of the Caribbean Sea. The two islands are also a part of the Lesser Antilles archipelago and are south of many other islands including Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Dominica, Martinique, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Grenada, Grenadines, Tobago and Trinidad. Antigua is home to a mixed group of people of British, Portuguese and West African descent and has a population of around 82,000.

Lodging
Antigua and Barbuda is well-known for its many resorts available to tourists. There are a number of luxury resorts along the beachfront that can be rented for affordable prices. You can also choose to stay in private villa-styled homes on the beach, but they are typically a little expensive compared to an average hotel. The good news is there are many great deals available for families and large groups traveling to the islands. To find out more visit the Web sites below in the resources section.
Transportation
When it comes to transportation on the islands most people prefer to walk, but you can opt for a boat or taxi ride when you feel the need. Everything visitors need is usually available just steps away from the hotel, making available rental car services largely unnecessary. Many hotels also offer their guests a shuttle bus service to visit some of the most popular tourist destinations. This is a great way to get around the islands and the service is usually offered free of charge to guests of the hotel.
