Overview

Aruba is a 33 kilometer long island of the Lesser Antilles in the southern Caribbean Sea. It is located to the north of Paraguana Peninsula, Venezuela. Aruba, along with Curacao and Bonaire, is often referred to as the ABC islands of the Leeward Antilles. Aruba is an autonomous region within the Kingdom of Netherlands with no administration subdivisions. The dry, arid, and pleasantly tropical marine climate has helped the tourism in a great way, as the visitors to the island can reliably expect a warm, sunny weather all throughout the year.

Activities & Attractions

Aruba is a great destination, if you plan to spend your next vacation there. It is most famous for its white, sandy beaches that will keep the whole family occupied throughout the day. Enjoy a splash in the warm waters of the turquoise seas. Scuba diving, water sports, deep sea fishing and windsurfing are some of the thrilling activities you can indulge in while at Aruba.

The places of interest on the island include the Alto Vista Chapel, Arikok National Park, and the California Lighthouse. You will have a great time exploring the many caves of Aruba, the noteworthy being the Quadriki caves and those in the Arikok National Park.

Lodging

Aruba has many budget hotel and motel options for travelers. You can also choose from bed and breakfasts and historic inns. Prices vary between $85 and $98 per night. If you are prepared to spend more, then there are many posh hotels which are lined up neatly along the northwestern shore. The list includes luxury options like the Radisson Aruba Resort and Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort, where the rates may go up to hundreds of dollars per night. Aruba also has certain small locally owned and operated hotels which can be easy on the pocket for those on a strict budget.

Transportation

Aruba lies at the heart of the southern Caribbean, about two and half hours by air from Miami, Florida, and within easy flying distance of other U.S. cities. There are many great options when it comes to transportation within Aruba. Most of the public transport services, namely buses, taxis, and ferries, are quite affordable and easily available at all times. People looking for more flexibility can go for the rental car option. They are all quite affordable too, making traveling in Aruba rather easy for travelers. However, you should ensure that you book your rental car service in advance.
