Jamaica is an island nation located in the Caribbean Sea. A former British colony and later a province of the Federation of the West Indies, it is the third most populated English-speaking country in North America. The land is made up of limestone, covered by Blue Mountains and volcanic hills. It has a diverse culture that stems from rich historical roots from all over the world.

The Arawak and Taino native people, who traveled from South America some four thousand years ago, were the original inhabitants of the island. It was later conquered by the British, who brought in slaves from Africa to work on the sugarcane plantations. Over the centuries, Indians, Chinese, Irish and many others went there and have left their imprints on the Jamaican culture.

For an exciting and adventurous experience, you can even rent bikes and scooters to explore the country.
