Germany Vacations
Germany has easily become one of the premier destinations for those who are looking to travel around the world. There are multiple reasons for people choosing to visit Germany. It is a country in central Europe with historically rich and interesting sites that make it a great vacation. Some places in Germany will feature castles from the previous types of governments, while others will have more modern structures that please the eye. Either way, Germany proves a best place for your vacation. Among the various cities that are well known in Germany, three tend to stand out: Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich. They can give anyone a great impression of Germany.
While these are not the only major cities that should be visited while in Germany, they are the best known, and arguably the most interesting. A lot of people will be able to find exactly what they want with a vacation to Germany. From historic sites, sporting venues to the stunning sceneries, Germany has it all.
Berlin
While many people are familiar with cities such as Frankfurt and Munich, Berlin is actually the capital city of Germany. Berlin has an incredibly large population, and is the country's largest city. Being one of Europe's hottest cities, Berlin has many historical monuments, government buildings, classic museums, and creative venues that draw many visitors to this city. It's really very interesting to learn about the Berlin Wall, and how the city was divided between the two areas. Although the wall has now fallen, many people still come to the area to find out as much about the wall as possible, and see the fragments of that wall.
Frankfurt
Frankfurt is only the 5th largest city in the country of Germany, but is easily well known by people around the world. The city is known for multiple things, including the "Frankfurter," which has the obvious name attachment. Having numerous large buildings, Frankfurt boasts a well known and beautiful skyline. The best views of the city can be gained from the observation platform of the Main Tower. The Museumsufer in Frankfurt has 14 museums, making up the longest mile of museums in Europe. Much like Berlin, the city has an incredible history that goes back for centuries. Frankfurt is the largest financial centre in continental Europe and is the place of residence of the European Central Bank and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. When visiting Germany, Frankfurt allows you to have a complete and interesting trip.
Munich
Munich, the 3rd largest city in Germany, is situated on the Isar River and at the foot of the Bavarian Alps. It is one of the most popular cities for Germans and tourists alike. The city is home to different castles, monasteries, and old areas that give the town an old charm. There are multiple places to visit in Munich, including the site of the 1976 Olympic Games, held in Munich itself. Downtown Munich holds the Rathaus-Glockenspiel, one of the most well known city clocks in the world. Munich has a richly endowed art collection and is an excellent shopping destination. The city certainly has more to offer than just light entertainment.
