Overview

The Republic of Hungary is a European country that many have heard of, but only few have actually visited. Hungary has an astonishing amount of different countries that border it, including Slovakia, Ukraine, Austria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia. This puts multiple different influences on the culture and style of the country, making it a more interesting place to visit. The capital of Hungary is Budapest, and the country's official language is Hungarian.

The country of Hungary has an unbelievably interesting history that can make for some incredible places to visit and see while in the country. People have inhabited Hungary since before 1,000 AD. One of the first to settle, Hungary was one among the more powerful countries in history. This can be better understood by visiting various areas in all of Hungary, including Budapest.

If you are looking for something to do while visiting Hungary, you are probably going to want to visit Budapest, the capital of the country. Budapest is a large city, with over 1.5 million people living in the city. There are many things to do in the city, including visiting the Hungarian Parliament building. You can also drop in on the National Library, as well as other multiple museums that focus on the history and culture of Hungary itself. If you are into religious areas, Hungary may be the place for you to visit. There are multiple areas that are all about history, including the Aquincum Museum that has Roman remains and artifacts. While these are not the only things that both Hungary and the city of Budapest have to offer visitors, they are some of the most major places visited in the country itself. For people with special interests, Hungary offers fishing, horse riding, bird-watching, cycling, and even thermal spas.

Lodging

You can find plenty of lodging facilities in Hungary that fit your requirements. The Budapest Marriott Hotel, Carlton Hotel, and Hotel New York Palace are some of the recommended hotels that you can check out in the city.

Hungary has an advanced transportation system that can make it easy to get around the entire country. There are railways for those who are looking for trains, and there are motorways for those who simply want to drive from one part of the country to another. Budapest features a good network of roads and highways, as well as the international airport and various forms of public transport. This includes buses, trolleys, trams, and rail lines, along with a metro. All of these transportation types are efficient, affordable, and make it easy to get around the capital.
