Be sure to visit the cathedrals, churches, and mosques, as they are some of the most beautiful sights the country of Macedonia can offer. Lodging
You can find a variety of lodging and accommodation facilities in Macedonia to suit your requirements and taste. There are many low-cost hotels which offer a decent quality of service. Travelers will want to be aware that hotels at Lake Ohrid are very expensive. In some instances, hotels may charge double to travelers from abroad, and you will be thus forewarned in case this should happen to you. Private lodgings may be best, but be sure you always ask to see the room beforehand.
Transportation
If you are traveling by car, plane, or bus, have your passport ready as they insist on checking you as soon as you arrive. If you fly to Macedonia, there is a brand new addition to the national airport which has made it far more welcoming and able to assist more customers than ever before. In addition, the bus system is affordable, but can be a bit difficult at times due to the extensive terminals throughout the city. This means that once in a while in order to reach the next terminal, you may have to head to a different one that is located on a different side of the city, which is not accessible by bus. If you would like to try your hand traveling by boat, boats are very cheap in Macedonia and a pleasure to ride on.
