Malta Vacations
Overview
Considered a microstate and made up of seven different islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Malta boasts a Mediterranean climate. Malta has an intricate and passionate history with some of the greatest ancient civilizations known to the world. The original inhabitants built some of the oldest structures in the world, which still can be viewed to this day. The Greeks, Romans, and many other groups also held the Maltese islands during their reigns and evidence of their time here can be seen everywhere. It is also stated that Saint Paul was washed ashore here after a shipwreck and performed numerous miracles which have been described in the Christian Bible.
Activities & Attractions
History and nature are the twin choices of individuals who visit Malta. Every island has something beautiful and interesting to offer anyone, whether it is shopping, food, or history. As you travel between the islands, you will be able to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea and all that this beautiful island country has to offer. St. John's Co -Cathedral, Casa Rocca Piccola, the National Museum of Archaeology and the ancient ruins of the Mnajdra Megalithic Temples are some of the popular tourist destinations in Malta.
Lodging
There are multiple forms of lodgings on each of the islands, especially the main island. These are priced average for most nearby countries, and offer multiple locations where you can stay with different kinds of accommodations. There are a number of excellent resorts which are priced slightly higher than other locations, but they make up for these by usually having a seaplane on hand or other similar bonus. Always make a reservation, especially if you are coming in the summer season, as it may be more difficult to secure lodgings, especially if you are traveling in a group where multiple rooms may be required.
Transportation
You can visit Malta with a European Union visa or a passport. Travel to Malta can be accomplished by plane or by boat. If you have the time, travel by boat as it awards the best scenery and is also the cheapest method. If you can, do everything possible to avoid taking a taxi because they are very expensive and will fight to pick you up. Busses are attractive because they are far less expensive than other forms of travel. Although busses will take longer than a taxi, you will have an easier and cheaper time by taking a bus.
