Monaco Vacations
Overview
Monaco is the second smallest country in world, larger only than Vatican City. It lies on the northern central coast of the Mediterranean Sea and is bordered by France on three sides. The country, despite its size, has become an international stop for any individual who enjoys a high-end casino or fine dining. It is always near the top of the list of the most preferred tourist locations in the world because of the mixture of temperate climate and beautiful destinations.
Activities & Attractions
Once in Monaco you can head straight to the beautiful cliff-side gardens that can be viewed on Saint Martin Avenue. You can also visit the world famous Monaco Casino, which could cost you just a minimal amount per day. If you get weekly or season passes, you are allowed a discounted rate along with a raise in the viewing limit.
You can also learn about the life of different aquatic species at the internationally acclaimed Oceanographic Museum and Aquarium. If you are a lover of arts you should visit the Salle Garnier Opera House, which plays host to some unforgettable events. Though slightly expensive, it is well worth the cost.
Lodging
You can find casinos everywhere in Monaco and they offer some of the best hotels. Be aware, though, if you are planning a vacation to Monaco you can expect an expensive trip. Staying at a location on the outskirts of the country can save you money, but if you would rather choose to stay in the heart of the city there are plenty of choices available for you that feature top service and luxurious surroundings. Accommodations are slightly more affordable during the winter season and it is your best bet to land a good bargain.
Transportation
There is no airport in Monaco. The closest one is in the neighboring country of France. However, Monaco offers luxurious train services that have decent pricing depending on the car you wish to travel in. You can also travel by rented car or boat. Travelling by taxis during the night is not a wise option for those on a budget as they can be very expensive. It may be best to rent a car to enjoy your trip in comfort and leisure. If you have the time and desire, traveling by motor scooters can be a fun and inexpensive choice.
