Northern Ireland, one of the four home nations of the United Kingdom, is bordered by the Republic of Ireland to the south and west. Tourists can find a lot to enjoy in Northern Ireland. The landscapes, scenery and vibrant city life enthrall visitors. The city of Belfast, in addition to having two of the country's airports, breathes an urban splendor that is envied by many other cities in Europe. It boasts of botanical gardens and greenhouses that are not to be missed. You should also consider spending some time strolling about the Belfast Zoo.

As you walk along the city you can catch glimpses of thatched cottages that have been preserved for many years. A few interesting places to visit in the city are Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Scrabo Tower and world renowned shopping center Victoria Square. Also, do not forget to check out the ruins of Dunluce Castle and the wonderful landscape of Giants Causeway.

While in Newcastle you can enjoy walking on the seafront promenade and looking at the modern and elegant sculptures. The Mourne Mountains is also a great getaway for those looking to spend some time outdoors, as is Murlough National Nature Reserve. If you fancy a round of golf, the Royal Country Down Golf Club is one of the best courses in the world and an absolute must visit.

Accommodations in Northern Ireland offer more than just a place to lay back and sleep or a delicious meal to savor. The many options in Northern Ireland include inns, farm houses and self-catering apartments. Northern Ireland has a well maintained road transportation system. The country is also connected to the other parts of the United Kingdom by sea and air. There are also passenger railways that connect most of the cities in the country.
