Overview

Paris, the capital and largest city in France, is one of the most popular cities in the world. Situated on the Seine River, Paris has been the site of many important parts of history such as the French Revolution, the World's Fair, and multiple wars. It is also one of the world's leading business and cultural centers.

Activities & Attractions

The city has many iconic landmarks and attractions, perhaps the most popular being the Eiffel Tower. It is one of the most well known structures in the world, with people around the globe knowing what it is and what it looks like. Visitors can go up the tower and see one of the most amazing views of Paris, making it one of the most romantic places to be in the most romantic city in the world.

The Louvre, the most-visited art museum in the world, is also one of the worlds most famous. Some of the most well known paintings and sculptures ever created - The Venus de Milo Statue, the popular sculpture of Nike of Samothrace, and The Mona Lisa - are housed at the Louvre.

Other Parisian landmarks found here are the Notre Dame de Paris, the Napoleonic Arc de Triomphe, and Les Invalides. There is also Tuileries Gardens and Left Bank Luxembourg Garden, two of Paris' oldest and most famous gardens. If you are in the mood for a night of wonderful music, Opera Garnier and Opera Bastille are two of Paris' largest opera houses.

Disneyland Resort Paris, which has a fully operating park and resort in the city of Paris, is the Disney extension into Europe. It is a modern attraction different from anything else in Paris. Opened in 1992, there are two theme parks, a retail, dining and entertainment district, and seven Disney-owned hotels.

Lodging

Your accommodations in Paris can be chosen based on how long you stay there. If you are planning to stay a long time, you may want to consider renting an apartment or studio. If you plan to stay for a short amount of time, you can choose a location that is easy to reach from your arrival or departure point. Either way, you are sure to find what you are looking for between the high end, fashionable hotels and inexpensive, budget hotels.

Transportation

Paris is well connected by the major airlines, European trains, and bus lines. The Paris Metro System is vast, efficient and covers every part of the city. Travelling in buses is easy but can be slowed by traffic. It is wise to book as much as possible in advance during peak seasons since air and train fares may increase due to popular demand.
