Prague Vacations

Overview

Prague, the largest city in the Czech Republic and also its capital, is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is a major hub in the country for almost all things related to politics, economics and culture. As a tourist you will find it to be an incredibly beautiful and historically interesting city.

While Prague is still on its way to modernization, there are aspects of the city's past reflected everywhere. It has seamlessly managed to mix its old and interesting history with a more modern feel. This incredible combination makes Prague a major destination in the Czech Republic and all of Europe.

Activities & Attractions

Prague offers visitors many attractions and activities to keep them occupied throughout their stay. There are multiple theatres to visit, including the National Theatre and Estates Theatre, where the premiere of Mozart's Don Giovanni was originally held. The National Museum, National Library and National Gallery are just some of the important places you can visit while in Prague. They will allow you to soak yourself in the culture of the city and the Czech Republic.

The castles of Prague hold a piece of notable history. There are also many beautiful cathedrals to visit, as well as an incredible countryside that is a must-see. Slightly outside the city you can get picturesque views of the countryside and enjoy lunch against the backdrop of Prague's famous landmarks at the Vltava River Lunch Cruise.

Lodging

There are plenty of hotels and accommodation options available in Prague. One thing of note is unlike other areas, the number of stars for a hotel is decided by the owners themselves, not in accordance with international standards. Hence, you may get more facilities in a four star hotel than in a five star hotel and vice versa. If you wish to know about the location and facilities provided in the hotels of Prague, you follow the links in the resource section.

Transportation

The transportation system in Prague incorporates many modern developments and makes it easy to get around the city. There is a metro system that features over 50 stations and facilitates travel from one side of Prague to the other. The rail system makes it easy to get to even the corners of Prague and kilometers beyond it, including nearly all of the Czech Republic. There is an international airport in Prague, making travelling to the city effortless. Finally, the roads in the city are well maintained and help make a smooth ride on the buses and taxies.
