Scotland Vacations
Overview
Scotland occupies a large area of Great Britain and is made up of a mainland and over 790 islands. The country shares a border with England to the south, the North Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the southwest. There is a lot of history of the region from the days of Julius Caesar, but goes back even further than that to 9,600 BC. Scotland has a long political history, falling under the rule of the Romans, becoming an independent nation and ultimately joining the Kingdom of Great Britain.
