UK Vacations
UK
The UK or the United Kingdom comprises Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Being one of the wealthiest nations in the world, it operates as a constitutional monarchy. With a King or Queen as the head of state in its constitutional monarchy, the United Kingdom has a Prime Minister elected to serve as the head of government. The Royal Family to this day remains a topic dear to their subjects and every activity concerning them is followed closely and reported on, often making way to national news.
Whether you are out in the city for a short weekend break or a long vacation, the lodging opportunities in United Kingdom do not disappoint. You can find special waterside holiday cottages, self-catering apartments that provide you the privacy of your very own home, lakeside resorts and log cabins by the riverside. Trains are also a preferred mode of transportation in the area. You can also travel by road, though they are usually very congested.
England
England is a paradise for holidaymakers in Europe. It is also called Great Britain. The prefix "great" has been added to it so that it can be distinguished from a part of France known as smaller Britain. The country offers palate-soothing food and drinks. It has a young crowd that celebrates a vibrant nightlife and hence suits those holidaymakers who are out for an entertaining short vacation. The country has so many sightseeing attractions that it is difficult to put down all of them on paper. Opportunities for outdoor activities are in abundance. There are the sprawling countryside and gardens for you to relax, historical museums and art galleries you can explore and music venues and theatres where you can entertain yourselves. The London Zoo, Primrose Hill, Kensington Gardens, art galleries, Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace are places you must check out if you are in London.
Northern Ireland
Mountains, green parks, vast countryside, moors, silver sand beaches, lakes and the seashores, that pretty much includes everything a holidaymaker would desire on his/her vacation. From fishing villages sprinkled along the shores, to tiny villages tucked away in the countryside, Northern Ireland is a haven for tourists. Some of the attractions of the place in addition to the historic cities of Armagh, Belfast and Derry are the Fermanagh Lakeland, the Glens of Antrim, the empty moors, sprawling mountain ranges and coasts.
Scotland
Scotland, in addition to the mainland, consists of over 790 islands that include the Northern Isles and the Hebrides. Though a small country, Scotland has many attractions packed within. If you are interested in history, make it a point to visit the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. The fascinating landscapes, castles, country pubs, golfing, fishing and canoeing make it a lively place to visit. If you are a nature enthusiast, you can find otters, eagles, whales and dolphins in the colds seas near Outer Hebrides.
Wales
Wales is another fantastic destination in Europe. The Welsh history and culture mixed with the modern sophistication is one of the greatest assets of Wales. It is a great destination for those who wish to enjoy nature. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park gives you ample opportunities to go hiking or mountain biking. The pounding surf, beautiful beaches and the limestone cliffs of the Gower Peninsula are other attractions you can check out in Wales. If you are the adventurous type, then a trip to Llandudno is a must on your itinerary. The best time to visit Wales is between June and August.
