Northern Mexico Vacations
Overview
With a strikingly beautiful contrast of sunny skies and dark jungles, Northern Mexico is becoming a more popular tourist destination as each year passes by. The locale is certainly a clear favorite for those who want to experience Mexico without getting too deep into traditional tourist activities. The very setting of Northern Mexico is a beauty to behold with its two mountain ranges - the Sierra Madre Oriental in the east and the Sierra Madre Occidental in the west. This primarily desert region borders the United States of America. Once there you can also take a glimpse of the Rio Grande, which separates the United States from the country of Mexico.
Activities & Attractions
If you like to relax on the beach, lie back and enjoy a sunbath in the sandy beaches of Northern Mexico. You can also go river kayaking, which is one of the best ways to get an intimate view of the area. However, you will need a permit to do this, so make to stop at a park ranger office before you head out on the water.
Northern Mexico also has large number of jungles where travelers can go exploring and indulge in adventure activities. The lush vegetation is easy to get lost in, though, making them potentially dangerous for those not accustomed to hiking or navigating.
If you're able to spend a little bit more money, it is more than worthwhile to take a canyon trip near the Monterrey area. The trip is amazing if you request the help of trained guides the entire way. You can even try snorkeling around the Yucatan Peninsula and take a deep look at the vast marine life. Of course, Northern Mexico isn't only about nature. The area offers a busting nightlife with luxurious restaurants and vibrant nightclubs.
Lodging
Since the area is favored by tourists, there are many different types of lodging accommodation. If you prefer luxurious and comfortable accommodations for your holiday, there are numerous four star hotels that offer great service. Keep in mind that during the warmer months of the year hotels get booked quickly and often have higher rates. If you are looking to save some money and avoid large crowds it is best to look for off-season rates and book then.
