Brazil Vacations
Brazil
Brazil is a well-known vacation destination in South America and it is the fifth largest country in the world. It is bordered by Uruguay to the south, Argentina and Paraguay to the southwest, Bolivia and Peru to the west, and Colombia to the northwest.
Brazil has plenty of attractions that will make your South American vacation an amazing experience. The Brazilian topography includes hills, mountains, plains, highlands, and scrublands, which offer many recreational opportunities for the large number of tourists visiting the country. The official language of Brazil is Portuguese. If you are planning a vacation to Brazil, you cannot miss out on Rio de Janeiro and the Amazon Rainforest.
Football is the most popular sport in the country. Brazil is also a hotspot for beach volleyball, which is one of the fastest growing sports in popularity.
The Amazon Rainforest
The Amazon Rainforest is a wonderful place to enjoy your vacations in Brazil. It is known to have the greatest biological diversity in the world. The Amazon basin covers an area of 4,100,000 square kilometers, of which around 3.4 million square kilometers area is currently forested. Although the whole forest area does not belong to Brazil, it claims the Amazon rainforest as its asset and has become an authority of the rainforest, especially in organizing the visitors' tours to the forests. There are many species of flora and fauna, which are exclusive to the Amazon rainforest, making it one of the most interesting places for the wild life lovers.
The Amazon rainforest region lacks proper tourism infrastructure such as good airports, hotels, and multi-lingual tour operators and other amenities to draw a large number of tourists. In spite of this, the count of tourists is increasing gradually. Most of the amenities can be found only in big cities such as Belem and Manaus. If you really want to explore the region, you can hire local boats with specialized guides and all the essentials required for a thrilling expedition. The boats can take you deep into the forest to an amazing abundance of wildlife, making it an unforgettable experience.
Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is quite well known internationally. It is the state capital of Brazil and the second largest city of South America. Rio de Janeiro is popular for its natural settings, fabulous samba music, and relaxing tourist beaches with sumptuous hotels, such as Copacabana and Ipanema. The city of Samba is the latest and hottest tourist attraction in Rio de Janeiro.
Rio de Janeiro is host to one of the world's most well attended celebrations: the carnival. It attracts millions of people from all over the world who come to participate and celebrate the fest. Rio de Janeiro is home to a giant statue of Christ, which is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. This statue of Jesus Christ is over 100 feet tall and sits atop Peak of Corcavado Mountain, looming over the entire area. The city has a tropical monsoon forest climate characterized by long periods of rain.
