Christ the Redeemer is a giant, imposing statue of Jesus Christ stands 120 feet tall and located at the peak of the Corcovado mountain in Tijuca Forest. The statue, dominating the city skyline, is an incredibly breathtaking site and draws hundreds of tourists to the place. It took almost 10 years to build and was completed in 1931. It has recently been given a place in the list of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Taxis and rental cars would be ideal to travel around the city. Driving on your own is not a very good option.
