Overview

With alluring tourist attractions spread across its landscape, the state of Alabama rightly claims itself to be one of the compelling holiday destinations in the United States of America. It's packed with historical sites, and balmy beaches.

The historical roots of Alabama are still intact, with every corner of this province divulging ancient truths of the past to its visitors. The tranquil terrains of Alabama can tap the doors of your imagination and instigate truly amazing thoughts in you. You would be surprised to have found such strong inspirations at a place that looked so plain at the first glance.

Activities & Attractions

Alabama has everything to keep a history enthusiast completely occupied. The state is well-known for its archaic setting, with plenty of old and new fragments of the past scattered across the province. It also houses the Rosa Parks Museum, which holds a significant status in the history of the state. This Alabamian attraction tugs at the hearts of many, because it is entwined to the past of some individuals. Many African American folks revere this place and explore it to unravel their past, present, and the future.

The Huntsville Space and Rocket Center is another must-see site with incredible space exhibits. The Birmingham Botanical Gardens contain beautiful landscape that's worth the trip. A unique event that would be fun to attend is the annual Alabama Crawfish Festival.

Other enticements of Alabama include the national historic trail from Selma to Montgomery, civil rights memorial centers, exquisite churches, scenic beaches, and picturesque state parks.

Lodging

Accommodation is never out-of-the-way at Alabama, which is packed with all types of lodgings including motels, hotels, bed and breakfasts, and resorts. One specific resort that has won the appreciation of many vacationers is the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa. However, if you choose to stay at one of the higher profile resorts, you would end up spending a minimum of $200 per night. But there are many other lodging options that are more affordable. If you prefer hotels, you can stop at the Wynfrey Hotel.

Transportation

Alabama is accessible through many modes of transportation. You can fly in, drive if you are within a convenient distance, board a bus, or embark a ship. You can also take one of these modes and switch to another midway. After reaching Alabama, you can roam about the city either by using the public bus systems, calling a taxi, or renting a car.

"QUESTION RE: TOURS"
Written by Donna Powell
I am a senior citizen and would love to take a tour bus to the mid-west or anyplace. However, I would have to leave from a town in Alabama since I live in Alabama. please inform me of any tours that will be taking place in 2010 and traveling places other than Alabama. Thank you. Donna
