New Jersey Vacations
New Jersey, called the Garden State, is located in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States. Tourism is a big business in New Jersey as evident by Newark Liberty International Airport being ranked the seventh busiest airport in the United States. New Jersey also has the country's highest population density and the second highest median income.
Its beaches, amusement piers, beautiful hills and quaint Victorian towns are major attractions in the state. Some major kids' attractions include Liberty Science Center, Mountain Creek Resort Turtleback Zoo, Funplex and Duke Farms. Other options include relaxing on the beach in Cape May or renting a bike for an hour to enjoy bike riding at sunrise or sunset. The Franklin Mineral Museum is a fun and educational destination that has demonstrations and examples of the mining methods used during its period of operation. Another popular attraction is the Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari. It has high-tech roller coasters, thrill rides, shows and is ranked as the "World's Ultimate Thrill Park."
There are many wonderful places to stay while in New Jersey. You can choose one of the popular hotels or motels or you can set your sights on a resort location. Many bed and breakfasts and inns are also located across the State. Just decide what level of comfort you want and start making reservations. Congress Hall Crystal Springs Golf Resort & Spa and Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson are some of the hotels that satisfy travelers.
Buses and trains are the main modes of public transportation in New Jersey, although there are also ferry services. With so much shoreline it is not uncommon to travel via the waterways. Most travelers have their own cars to use for the majority of their transportation but occasionally public transportation is needed for one reason or another. There are also taxi services available.
Atlantic City
Atlantic City is a favorite spot for many in New Jersey and is a playground for casino gaming, entertainment and family attractions. The Boardwalk, which has fame in and of itself, was America's first boardwalk. In Atlantic City there is exciting nightlife, golfing, dancing, beaches, boating and historic treasures. There is also Ellis Island, which was known as the "Gateway to America" for 12 million immigrants. This is an American symbol that still stands today for freedom.
Don't miss the New Jersey State Aquarium, another popular attraction of the state. Of course, there are also many historic mansions and buildings, as well as state parks and amusement parks for the enjoyment of the natives and tourists alike.
