The state of Pennsylvania often referred simply as PA, is located in the middle Atlantic and northeastern sections of the United States. The most populated cities in Pennsylvania are Philadelphia, Allentown, and Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania is bordered by Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, West Virginia, New York, New Jersey, and Canada. Pennsylvania has been known as the Keystone State since 1802. This is because of the central location of the state among the 13 original colonies of the United States. In colonial times the Pennsylvania was also known as Quaker Province and is now also referred to sometimes as the Quaker State.

Pennsylvania is home to many different professional sporting teams including the Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Philadelphia Soul.

There are ample museums you can visit in Lancaster. If you are a nature lover, then visit the animal parks and fishing spots in PA. There are plenty of activities for adventure buffs. Bear hunting, sky diving, rafting, caving, horseback riding, snow shoeing, and rock climbing are some popular activities in the state. The Claws 'N' Paws Wild Animal Park, Clyde Peeling's Reptiland, Living Treasures Animal Park, Camel Beach Water Park, and Splash Lagoon are some famous tourist destinations you can visit.

Most major cities are well connected by roads and railway. Domestic airlines offer services to travel around the state. Pittsburg is the 2nd largest inland port in the country. There is plenty of lodging options in the state. You can choose to stay in motels, hotels, bed, and breakfast inns or even camp at the camp sites.

Philadelphia

Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania and the 5th largest metropolitan in the United States. Philadelphia, commonly known as the City of Brotherly Love, is also called Philly. Once the 2nd largest in city in the British Empire right after London, Philadelphia was considered to be the geographical and social center for the original 13 Colonies.

If you are interested in early American history, then Philadelphia is definitely one place you should visit. Philadelphia's ride to prominence within the United States during the 18th century was mostly because of Benjamin Franklin. It is believed that most of the political ideals developed in Philadelphia led to the formation of the American Revolution and eventually to the American Independence. This makes Philly such an important city in the early American History.

Adventure Aquarium, African American Museum, Barnes Foundation Gallery, Chinese Friendship Gate, Philosophical Hall, and Independence Hall are some of the popular tourist spots in the city.
