Overview
Tennessee is a state that is located in the southern region of the United States. The largest city in Tennessee is Memphis and the capital city is Nashville. Paleo Indians were the first inhabitants of what is known today as modern day Tennessee. The state is divided into three parts, namely East Tennessee, West Tennessee, and Middle Tennessee.
Activities & Attractions
There are plenty of great activities and attractions all across Tennessee, especially in its major cities including Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Clarksville. The Brooks Museum of Art, the Center for Southern Folklore, the Children's Museum of Memphis, Memphis Zoo, the Mississippi River Museum, and Mud Island River Park are popular places of attraction in Memphis.
There are many music events and live shows that are frequently organized in the state. Tennessee is a favorite tourist destination of fans of country and southern rock and roll music. When you visit this state, do make it a point to attend the music shows that are held. Visit the state in April and join the awesome April celebrations. Music programs are held every weekend that offer tribute to the music heritage of the state. If you are visiting the state in fall, you can join the Annual Fall Folklore Jamboree where programs are conducted by folk artists, musicians, and demonstrators.
There are many historical trails in Tennessee. You can travel on a trail and visit the places of interest along the route. Some of the famous trails are Appalachian Quilt Trail, Traditional Music Trail, Farm Trail of Southeast Tennessee, and Cherokee Heritage Trails. Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum, Alex Haley Museum, American Museum of Science and Energy, and Anna Mary Dowden House Museum are some of the museums that you can visit in the state.
